1. Who we are

NovaDrive Service Centre Ltd (company number C 116377, VAT MT32937930), of 89, Triq Il-Mastrudaxxa, Ħal Qormi, QRM 0001, Malta. Referred to below as "we", "us" or "LTR Malta".

2. What this service is

We rent vehicles for periods of one month or more. This is a rental service. It is not credit, hire purchase, leasing or a conditional sale. Title to the vehicle remains with us at all times, there is no option to purchase, and no part of the rental is reported to a credit reference agency.

3. Eligibility

• The main driver must be at least 23 years old (21 for the City & economy category, subject to a young-driver surcharge).
• A full driving licence must have been held for at least 24 months.
• EU, EEA and UK licences are accepted directly. Other national licences require a valid International Driving Permit.
• We require photographic identification and proof of a Maltese address before hand-over.
• We may decline a rental at our discretion, and will say so promptly.

4. The rental period

The minimum term is stated in your rental agreement. The Flexi Month plan runs on a rolling 30-day basis and may be ended with 14 days' written notice. Fixed terms (Season, Half Year, Annual) run for the agreed period; ending one early attracts a fee equal to one month's rental, waived where you are leaving Malta permanently and give 30 days' notice with proof.

5. What the rental includes

Comprehensive insurance with collision damage waiver and theft protection, all scheduled servicing and wear items, the annual road licence, the VRT roadworthiness test, 24/7 roadside assistance in Malta and Gozo, a replacement vehicle where yours is off the road, and delivery and collection within Malta and Gozo.

6. What the rental excludes

• Fuel. The vehicle is supplied at a stated level and must be returned at that level.
• Traffic contraventions, parking fines and Valletta CVA charges, passed to you at cost.
• Ferry tickets for crossings you make during the rental.
• Loss of keys or vehicle documents.
• Damage arising from driving under the influence, off-road use, or use in breach of clause 8.
• Interior cleaning beyond fair wear.

7. Insurance and excess

You are covered as a named driver on our fleet policy. The standard excess is €700 per incident, reducible to nil for the additional monthly sum stated in the quote. Additional drivers must be named and approved by us in advance; an unnamed driver invalidates cover entirely.

8. Use of the vehicle

• The vehicle may be driven only in Malta and Gozo, and only by approved named drivers.
• It may not be used for racing, driving instruction, off-road use, towing, or carrying passengers for hire or reward without our written consent.
• It may not be sub-let, and it may not be taken off the islands.
• Smoking and the carriage of animals are subject to a cleaning charge unless agreed in advance.

9. Mileage

The included allowance is stated in your agreement, pooled across the term. Kilometres beyond the allowance are charged at the per-kilometre rate stated in the quote, calculated at the end of the rental.

10. Payment

The first month is payable before hand-over. Subsequent months are collected by direct debit on the same date each month. A refundable security deposit applies on the Flexi Month plan and is waived on fixed terms paid by direct debit. All prices are quoted in euro and inclusive of VAT at the prevailing Maltese rate.

11. Damage, breakdown and accidents

Report any accident, damage or theft to us and, where required, to the police, within 24 hours. Do not authorise repairs without our written consent. Mechanical faults arising from normal use are ours to remedy; damage caused by misuse or breach of these terms is chargeable to you, subject to the excess.

12. Ending the rental

We collect the vehicle at a time agreed with you. A joint condition check is carried out and compared against the hand-over report. Where the vehicle is returned in fair condition with the agreed fuel level and within the mileage allowance, no further sum is payable.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malta, and the Maltese courts have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here limits your rights as a consumer under Maltese or EU law.
